Review: Netflix for Kids

I write a weekly column in the Courier Post of South Jersey and last week’s article was about ways to cut down on your cable bill. One option I suggested was cutting back on your cable package or eliminating it all together and subscribing to an online video streaming service. The most popular of all video streaming is Netflix. When I was comparing all the different services for my own family I thought about our TV needs. Netflix was the only service that covered all our needs. We wanted a service that was kid and family friends as well as parent friendly with a big selection of movies and complete seasons of TV shows.

My husband and I found it easy to use. We can enjoy all the programming from anywhere because we are able to stream videos on all of our devices like our phones, Smart TV and tablets. Netflix can also be accessed from your computer and gaming system. I was also surprised to see how easy it was for my 5 year old daughter to use. Netflix has Netflix Kids, a section dedicated with family favorites appropriate for children ages 2-12, that my daughter loves. There are shows and movies from Hasbro, Disney Jr. and Cartoon Network. So whether you want to watch just one show or sit down for movie time with the family. Netflix Kids makes it easy to find the right programming. Even a child can use it.

Netflix was the only service that had the Disney shows and movies that my family loves. I don’t have to worry about commercials and enjoy uninterrupted programming. We love being able to watch Disney shows like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Disney movies are always a hit and having unlimited access to movies like Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, The Aristocats and Pocahontas.

I love that I have unlimited access to all these great shows and movies for only $7.99 a month! Compare that to your monthly cable bill!

What are you watching on TV with your family? Netflix has family favorites from Disney, Disney Jr., Hasbro, Cartoon Network and Dreamworks that are available to stream anytime, anywhere.

And streaming is easier than you think! Download the free app on your iPad, click on the Netflix app on any gaming device, go to the website on your computer – and you’re in business. Check it out here!
