If you’ve been following me on Instagram or Twitter you might have seen that I visited Wisconsin a few weeks ago. I got a few messages asking me what in the world I was doing in Wisconsin well wonder no further, I was in Wisconsin to learn more and to see first hand how Speed Queen Washer and Dryers are developed, tested, created and assembled at their plant in Ripon, WI.
Next question, why did I need to see how Speed Queen Washer and Dryers are made? That’s an easy answer, I’m excited to announce my partnership with Speed Queen. For the next year I’ll be sharing with you my experience with Speed Queen AND drumroll please… I’ll be giving away one lucky winner their own washer and dryer set! How amazing is that right?
When I was first approached by Speed Queen, I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t familiar with the brand in the sense of residential washer and dryers. I was told that if you’ve ever been to a laundromat you would have most likely used a Speed Queen machine. Speed Queen is one of the top brands for laundromats and large institutions like hospitals and hotels. When I asked my father in-law about it, his response was “Oh yeah Speed Queen is a great brand, they make great washer and dryers!” and that seems to be the reaction whenever I ask someone who is familiar with the brand.
During my tour of the Speed Queen factory my first impression was exactly what I expected. From the second you walked into the building you were greeted by friendly faces. You can see that everyone that works there genuinely takes pride in their job and that’s really important in the quality of Speed Queen machines.
I was able to learn more about how they developed future machines, tested for 3 years where others test for only 2 years as well as created and assembled all the pieces of the machines. The main points that I took from my visit was that Speed Queen cares about their products. They care about making a machine that will last not only for large businesses but for homes. You are getting the same quality in washers and dryers that companies that do laundry for large hospitals and hotels get for our home. Big or small, no matter what it looks like on the outside, it’s goes through the same development and testing on the inside.
If you asked someone from Speed Queen why are they different than the other brands they’ll respond by asking you to try to move one of their machines. That will be speak for itself. The washer and dryer I currently have now I have no problems with moving it back and forth when someone falls behind them. Speed Queen washer and dryers are made with steel inside and out making them much more heavier thus Speed Queen machines are more durable. They are making them like they used to and they should!
I’ll will soon be able to tell you first hand what I think when I get my Speed Queen washer and dryer installed next week by AJ Appliances in South Philly. I look forward to telling you about the installation and my first loads of laundry.
Make sure to “Like” Speed Queen Home Laundry on Facebook because they are giving away a set there right now. When I was in Wisconsin I was there when they gave a way the last set. They were so excited for the winner and I just love it!
