I’m not going to lie every time one of my friends posts a picture of their child from any portrait studio I’m filled with pure jealousy. Seeing their kids all adorable and smiling with the fun backgrounds and props just reminds me of how we have no pictures like that of my daughter. Every time we attempt to take her to a portrait studio it’s a nightmare. She’s shy, gets uncomfortable around strangers and just breaks down in tears. You would think she was at the doctor’s office getting shots but nope just trying to get her birthday picture next to a giant #2. We basically stopped trying last Christmas after feeling embarrassed and running out with a screaming child. I want that picture of my child with a prop and cute background! Is that too much to ask??? I’m sure many of you can relate!

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a place that had all the props, fun backgrounds and us parents can be the ones behind the camera? Well look no more! This week I was able to review Lens Friends Studios and their motto is “Your Shots… Our Props”. Lens Friends is the ultimate studio experience for the amateur photographer. You can use your own camera or their point and shoot cameras. I would recommend leaving your camera at home. They are located at 2531 Huntingdon Pike C-1 in Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. For me coming from Roxborough it took about 30 mins which wasn’t bad at all.

In the spirit of Easter and Spring Lens Friends have live baby chicks! With that said I was confident that I could make this work with my daughter. I told her that we were going to see baby chicks and take pictures with them. She was beyond excited but so was I! I’m finally going to be able to have studio portrait style photos of my daughter and I’ll have pictures I can give to family and friends.

When I first get to Lens Friends you immediately feel comfortable. After a little explanation they hand you a camera and it’s your set and props to use, your kids and you have 30 minutes do what you want. Simple as that and no catches! Their set can fit up to 6 people so feel free to bring the whole family!

You don’t have to worry about not knowing what you’re doing. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to get you comfortable with the camera or get the perfect pose and smile from your children.

In addition to great pictures and prices you also get the experience. After her Easter pictures with the live chicks we broke into the fun props and took silly pictures. My daughter enjoyed our time together taking pictures that she can’t wait to make it back. Did I mention they also do parties??
