When you think of 4th of July the first thing most people think about are fireworks. The big question I always get is where and when can you see the fireworks. So be in the know with your Where and When guide to spectacular firework shows happening during the 11 Day Wawa Welcome America Festival. But don’t just come out for the fireworks, come early and enjoy all the festivities. You can start enjoying them as soon as next weekend!

Saturday June, 25th at Penn’s Landing
Taste of Philadelphia from Noon – 10pm Music by Aaron Neville, 8pm followed by Fireworks

Saturday July 2nd at Penn’s Landing
Super Scooper All You Can Eat Ice Cream Festival from 12-5pm and 6-9pm $7 donation. Military Band Concert with “Pershing’s Own” US Army Band and Fireworks

Monday July 4th at Party on the Parkway
4th of July Jam from Noon-6pm featuring The Roots, Michael McDonald, Estelle, Earth Wind and Fire, Sara Barrieles, DJ Jazzy Jeff and more. Followed by Fireworks

Don’t forget that usually when the fireworks display gets started traffic usually will come to a standstill making it difficult to navigate the area especially around Penn’s Landing (Old City, Delaware Ave, South Street, etc.) people like to pull over or just stop to watch. My suggestion is to make sure to get there early and get a parking spot if you’re not doing public transportation.

The fireworks displays are always spectacular and can be enjoy from any distance on the 4th of July they can be enjoyed from Kelly Drive if you want to avoid the Parkway. If you’re bringing the kiddies out to enjoy the show it can get pretty loud so remember to protect their ears. Either cover their ears with your hands, use ear plugs if they stay in their ear or ear protectors.

One product that I love the best is the BabyBanz Earmuffs. The Banz hearing protectors effectively attenuate harmful loud noises without shutting out other ambient sounds. The earmuffs are easy to wear, with a low profile and no protruding parts that can catch on things. The wide, foam-filled cushions ensure that the set doesn’t squeeze uncomfortably, and there is plenty of space for the ears inside the shells. Banz earmuffs have a comfy leather cover over the headband to ensure all over comfort!! The weight is also important to comfort; each ear muff weighs just 190 grams (that’s 6.1 ounces).
