The Philadelphia Home Show, the region’s premier building, design and landscaping event, will begin its ten-day showcase in one month, on January 14th through the 22nd at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Plans are being finalized for the spectacular affair, highlighting the latest trends in remodeling, decorating and gardening.
With his energetic personality, Todd Davis, of HGTV’s Room Crashers, will leave people motivated to take on even the most difficult landscaping and design projects. During his appearance at the Philadelphia Home Show this year, Davis will teach attendees how to create dynamic environments and timeless designs both indoors and out.
Kimberly Lacy of HGTV’s Curb Appeal: The Block will be appearing at this year’s big event. Lacy, known for her spunky design, will inspire attendees with her passion and artisan paint tips and tricks. When she’s not on TV, she spends time rehabilitating homes for people in need by bringing awareness to impoverished communities.
Attendees can also visit four specially-created Design Rooms, where local media personalities are paired with designers to create the room of their dreams. Attendees can stroll through these unique settings, featuring new exciting products, furniture, colors and accessories sure to inspire. Designers include Michael Dornblum and Susan Gevurtz from Dwelling paired with 98-WOGL’s Valerie Knight, Denise Sabia from The Painted Home teamed with Comcast Sports-Net’s Gregg Murphy, Ronnie Silpazio from LeMontage joined with B101’s Tiffany Hill and Tommi Mischell from K Gallery along with 6ABC’s Melissa Magee.
New this year is “Clover Market at the Home Show.” Packed with a carefully curated selection of vintage furniture and accessories from the region’s best dealers and finely handcrafted work from local artisans, “Clover Market at the Home Show” is a must-shop destination. This will be an exclusive sampling of the amazing merchandise typically featured at the monthly outdoor Market in Ardmore, which reopens in April. Comcast’s Xfinity Experience will provide fun for the whole family on Martin Luther King Day, January 16. Special guest Strawberry Shortcake will be on hand for kids to meet and play with. There will also be a Green Screen for fun photos: pose for amusing shots in a variety of interesting themed backgrounds. In addition, the Ikea Lounge will provide respite for everyone to rest, relax and refresh while taking in all the festivities.
This year’s show promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring more GREEN than you have ever seen. Home Show organizers have partnered with Rolling Barrel Events for three evening celebrations under the theme of “Love Local,” featuring the area’s best wines, spirits and food. The fun starts Tuesday, January 17 with “Cocktails Made Easy,” followed by Wednesday’s “Local Wine & Cheese Pairings” and end on Thursday with a unique “Beer & Cookies” event.
