Recipe: Chicken Cheesesteak Roll

Looking for an easy and affordable meal? This is my Chicken Cheesesteak Roll, you can add anything to compliment the chicken in this roll or make it a regular Cheesesteak roll using Steak-umms.

What you’ll need:

  • 12 oz. package of thinly sliced chicken breast (Frozen)
  • 1 package of pre-made pizza dough
  • 1 8 oz. package of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Directions:

  • Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
  • Heat frying pan with the tablespoon oil over medium heat. Add onion and pinch of salt; cook and stir until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove onions from pan and set aside
  • Cook sliced chicken breast as directed in the same pan, season with salt and pepper.
  • Drain cooked chicken and set aside.
  • Prepare pizza dough by dusting with flour and stretching to 18 inch x 12 inch rectangle.
  • Once dough is ready, prick with fork.
  • Spread thin layer of mozzarella cheese, add cooked chicken and fried onions leaving 2 inches at the bottom.
  • Starting at the edge closest to you, start to roll the dough tightly until all the toppings are enclosed in the middle, and seal the seam along the bottom and on the ends by pinching the dough together.
  • Brush generously with egg wash.
  • Score the dough with a knife.
  • Transfer the roll on to a foiled sheet pan sprayed with nonstick spray.
  • Bake in over for 45 mins or until golden brown.

Notes

Feel free to add anything compliment the chicken like mushrooms, spinach or roasted red peppers. You can also do a regular cheesesteak with replacing the chicken with Steak-umms.
