Free Events: Screening Under the Stars at Penn’s Landing

Picture it! The RiverStage at Penn’s Landing is transformed into an outdoor theater for another season of Screenings Under the Stars. Every Thursday night in July and August, beginning tomorrow July 7th, 2011, a different popular film will be featured on a big screen on the new RiverStage at Penn’s Landing, located on Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street. The screenings, sponsored by media partners NBC 10 and B101.1 FM, will begin at dusk or approximately 8:30 p.m. in July and 8:00 p.m. in August. As with all events produced by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, the screenings are FREE.

Here’s the line up:

Starting at 8:30pm
July 7th – 127 Hours
July 14th – The King’s Speech
July 21st – The Social Network
July 28th – Eat, Pray Love

Starting at 8:00pm
Aug 4th – The Green Hornet
Aug 11th – Michael Jackson’s: This is It
Aug 18th – Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Aug 25th – Despicable Me

Screenings Under the Stars is affordable family entertainment and/or a great date night for couples at the right price: FREE! Seeing a spectacular film on the waterfront under the stars is the perfect family outing or truly unique and memorable summer date. Couples will be reminded of the old fashioned romance created by drive in movies. Visitors can begin or end their evening on South Street or in Old City, just a short walk from Penn’s Landing.
