Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute will feature the most comprehensive collection of ancient artifacts from Israel ever organized in the new exhibit Dead Sea Scrolls: Life and Faith in Ancient Times. The exhibit includes one of the largest collections of the priceless 2000-year-old Dead Sea Scrolls ever displayed in North America and an actual three-ton stone from the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and marks the world debut of four scrolls. The exhibit at The Franklin Institute runs through September.
Considered among the world’s greatest archeological discoveries, the Scrolls contain the oldest known copies of the Hebrew Bible. Also on display will be many newly discovered Holy Land objects including remains of religious articles, weapons of war, stone carvings, textiles and beautiful mosaics, jewelry and ceramics.
