All the details on the 2011 New Year’s Eve Philly Fireworks at Penn’s Landing

We all know that every year in Philly fireworks on New Year’s Eve at midnight have always been a tradition at Penn’s Landing, and now a new tradition continues with an additional, early fireworks show at 6:00 p.m.

Visitors to both the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing and Wiggins Park in Camden and SugarHouse Casino will be able to hear the synchronized soundtracks for the fireworks as both the 6:00 p.m. and midnight shows will be choreographed to unique soundtracks and launched from barges in the middle of the Delaware River.

6PM FIREWORKS SHOW – “Wishing you a Philadelphia New Year, A Salute to the Philadelphia Orchestra”

Musical Soundtrack: All musical works are recordings of the Philadelphia Orchestra, musical works include:

  • Handel’s Messiah – Hallelujah Chorus
  • Dance Bacchanale from Samson and Dalila
  • The Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra
  • The Nutcracker Ballet – Journey Through the Snow
  • Swan Lake – Act 1
  • William Tell Overture

MIDNIGHT FIREWORKS SHOW –  “Party on the Delaware”

Well here is your chance to see this amazing show set to amazing musical tracks that will get your body moving and grooving to the tunes and even swaying from side to side. Get ready to “Party on the Delaware”

Musical Soundtrack:

  • Party Rock (LMFAO)
  • DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love (Usher)
  • Someone Like You (Adele)
  • We Found Love (Rihanna)

These firework displays can be enjoyed up close at Penn’s Landing or further back on Delaware Ave. Visitors to both the Philadelphia and Camden waterfronts will be able to hear the synchronized soundtracks for the fireworks from speakers on the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing and Wiggins Park in Camden. KYW Newsradio will also broadcast the official soundtracks to both shows to allow revelers wherever they are watching to tune to 1060 AM to enjoy the fireworks displays with their coordinating soundtracks. CBS 3 will televise the traditional fireworks show live at Midnight, along with a special pre show leading up to the countdown so the entire Greater Philadelphia region can ring in the New Year with a bang.
