This spooky tour for adults sets out to explore more than two dozen historical sites in just over 90 minutes, including not just familiar landmarks like Independence Hall and the Library of Congress, but also the seedy scenes of former gallows, the red light district, the slave auction blocks and such notoriously haunted structures as City Tavern. Hear chilling tales of pirate ghost ships, mass unmarked graves and more sordid stories the other tour guides leave out. No wonder "Vampires, Sex, Ghosts and So Much More" was voted the city's best tour on Channel 17's Philly Hot List. [less-]

Take a turn as the engineer for a working 350-ton locomotive at the authentic train factory, explore the giant walk-through heart, try to avoid the "bowling ball of doom" at Sir Isaac's Loft and much, much more, as you learn about engineering, aeronautics, physics, geology and, of course, Franklin's fave -- electricity. "The Wire"'s Russ Widdall portrays Robert F. Kennedy in the world premiere of "Roseburg", a play that examines the past and present of our country's troubled relationship with gun control. In 1968, two weeks before a gun brought his life to an end, presidential hopeful Robert Kennedy was standing on the steps of the Roseburg courthouse and speaking out about our nation's need for gun control -- a speech that was met with heckles and may have cost him the Oregon primary. Fast-forward 47 years later to 2015, when that same sleepy logging town finds itself in the maelstrom of tragedy after a disturbed student kills nine in a classroom shooting before taking his own life. This New City Stage Company production of "Roseburg" examines the hot-button issue of gun control from both its Vietnam-era protest point-of-view, and its current position in the modern, bipartisan world of social media rants. This production features an ensemble of current Temple University students, as part of the Voices for a New City Educational program. [less-]

"Hair" celebrates peace and love, taking you back to 1960s New York as young hippies try to make sense of their lives in the shadow of the Vietnam War. As the "tribe" -- a group of politically active bohemian youths -- fight against conscription, Claude has to decide whether to resist the draft as his friends have done, or succumb to the pressures of his parents and conservative America. "Hair" is filled with unforgettable songs, like "Aquarius," "Let the Sun Shine In" and "Good Morning, Starshine," which all became anthems of the anti-war movement. The unbridled energy and infectious songs provide an electrifying look back into '60s hippie counterculture at Woodbury's Sketch Club Players. [less-]

Opening on Broadway the same year that saw the release of James Cameron's epic film "Titanic", "Titanic, the Musical" won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The story is well-known, yet still fascinates more than 100 years after its tragic sinking four days into that voyage: Grander and larger than any ship built before it, labelled unsinkable and billed as the "ship of dreams," the RMS Titanic symbolized hope, not only for the 2,200 aboard, but also for the millions around the world following the news of its maiden voyage. Featuring a cast of nearly 40 performers, "Titanic, the Musical" at the Dennis Flyer Theater in Blackwood introduces the audience to real-life individuals who played an integral part in the fateful voyage. Whether they were third class immigrants, second class or first class passengers, all boarded with dreams for the future.
